Wendy Martin White K.C., LL.B., B.A.

Wendy Martin White, K.C. has practiced for more than 28 years, primarily as a criminal defence lawyer and is the recipient of the Manitoba Bar Association, 2020 Access to Justice Award and the 2022 Section Activity Award for Criminal Law. She received the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal (Manitoba) in December 2022 for her contributions to her peers, to her community, to Manitoba and to Canada. On August 31, 2023, she was awarded the designation of King’s Counsel for the province of Manitoba. She has extensive trial, appellate and administrative tribunal experience. Her practice in the last 10 years has focused on complex matters, including murder, manslaughter, sexual assault, drug trafficking and impaired cases, often advancing unique Charter applications or motions. She represents clients throughout all of Manitoba and collaborated with a northern First Nation on Terms of Reference for its Justice Committee that adopted as its long-term goal, a self-governing Cree Court and Cree based justice system. Her client base is diverse, often presenting with complex backgrounds and challenges, including mental health, psychiatric diagnoses, and neurodiverse and cognitive limitations.
