In 1991 I left the partnership of a major Edmonton law firm to work with Weir Bowen; particularly with John Weir QC, one of Alberta’s leading medical malpractice lawyers. Since joining Weir Bowen I have focussed my practice on representing individuals who have suffered injuries or death as a result of medical errors. As my practice evolved over time I began representing children who were injured as a result of medical malpractice. Many of my cases involve children who have suffered a brain injury due to oxygen deprivation during labour and delivery, hypoglycemia, infections or premature birth. I have also represented children who have suffered traumatic brain injuries due to the use of forceps or vacuum extraction at delivery and children who have suffered brachial plexus injuries associated with shoulder dystocia.
