Vernon B. Hearn

Vern Hearn grew up in Evanston, a small village in Cape Breton, and his love of small communities has shaped his life and his law practice. He attended St. Francis Xavier University for his undergraduate degree, a BBA in Information Systems, and went on to law school at Dalhousie University. Vern articled at Burchell MacDougall LLP, but started his practice with a firm in Halifax after passing the bar. While in the city, Vern maintained his connections at Burchell MacDougall. It was upon learning John MacDougall, a friend and former member of the firm, was leaving to become a judge, he decided to return to Truro and take on John’s real estate practice. “Real estate law tends to be a happier law, and I enjoy it. I help people get into new homes or sell their existing homes, and that’s incredibly rewarding.” Vern also works in wills and estates, and his clients appreciate his professional, yet personable, manner.
