Riley M. Moss Lawyer

Riley Moss was called to the NL bar in 2003. Since then, she has practiced in all areas of Newfoundland and Labrador at all levels of court, having been in private practice, mediation, and public service. Her expertise includes over twenty years in family law, including a specialized practice in child protection. She has additional training in mediation, collaborative practice, trauma-informed practice, and restorative justice. Riley has worked with clients experiencing mental health and addictions issues who are among the most vulnerable clients involved in the court system. She has acted for clients in Mental Health Court, and before Provincial Mental Health Care and Treatment Act review panels and the Federal Review Board (for those who are found unfit to stand trial or not criminally responsible). She is also fluent in French. Riley is known for building strong client relationships and strives to problem solve with efficiency and transparency. While her goal is always to avoid protracted time in court for clients, Riley is an experienced litigator, particularly with respect to family matters. Riley has presented at international conferences and locally on issues related to child protection, mental health, and addictions. Outside of her job, Riley is a mother of four who is passionate about yoga, the outdoors (hiking, gardening and skiing) and her volunteer work.
