Elizabeth A. Urban, B.A. LLB Barrister & Solicitor

Elizabeth A. Urban, B.A. LLB – graduated from Osgoode Law School with her Bachelor of Laws Degree in 1989 and was called to Bar in 1991. Elizabeth completed her undergraduate studies at McMaster University and obtained her Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and Economics in 1986. During her attendance at Osgoode Hall Law School, and since her second year of attendance at McMaster University, Elizabeth worked in various law offices in one capacity or another to gain as much knowledge and experience as possible prior to becoming a lawyer. Elizabeth articled and then practiced with O’Connor, Leitch, Hays (Oakville) and then O’Connor, McLeod (Oakville) until she commenced her sole practice in June, 1992. Elizabeth has continued to practice primarily Family Law. She is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, Canadian Bar Association, Hamilton Law Association, Halton County Law Association, the Peel Halton Collaborative Practice Group, the Hamilton Halton Collaborative Practice Group and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (IACP). Elizabeth is also a member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, an association of professionals dedicated to improving the lives of children and families through the resolution of family conflict. During the past 24 years, Elizabeth has continued her education, attending countless seminars and various Family Law Conferences, to ensure that she keeps up to date on Family Law matters. It is truly a passion for Elizabeth to practice family law. She takes her role seriously in assisting families “in transition” and at the same time she exercises compassion with her clients recognizing their concerns whether advising, negotiating or litigating to achieve the most appropriate resolution to any family law dispute or problem.
