Cheryl Cruickshanks, B.A. (Hons.), LL.B. Solicitor and Notary Public

I am a Solicitor and Notary Public in the Province of Ontario, and I was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2009 after graduating from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2008.  I have worked in firms ranging from one lawyer to fifteen lawyers, in areas across the GTA including Bolton, Brampton, Mississauga and Toronto.  While I was still in the process of completing my four-year undergraduate university degree, I got my foot in the door at my first law office job as a receptionist and legal assistant by looking through the Yellow Pages of the telephone book, calling around to various law firms to inquire if they may be willing to grant me the opportunity to work with them.  One very experienced and senior solicitor by the name of David Cohen, who was a sole practitioner in Brampton with a primary focus on residential real estate, graciously agreed to meet with me, and that is how I got my start not only in that particular practice area, but in gaining practical, hands-on knowledge and proficiency in a law office environment. I possess substantial administrative and practice experience in all aspects of residential real estate transactions including, but not limited to, acting on mortgage refinances, sales and purchases (condo and freehold), and drafting and reviewing Agreements of Purchase and Sale, as well as lease agreements.  I worked as a student in other law firms for many years prior to becoming a lawyer, primarily in the area of residential real estate, and I therefore possess the skill set and experience necessary to produce my own documents and see a transaction through from beginning to end, as I currently do.
